Foam ≠ cleaning power: Lather has no relationship to cleaning effectiveness. Many powerful surfactants produce little foam. Consumer expectations for suds are created by marketing, not chemistry. Resist adding extra foam-booster — it adds cost, wastes ingredient, and can leave residue without improving performance.
pHIntermediate

A scale from 0–14 measuring how acidic or alkaline a solution is. 7 is neutral; below 7 is acidic; above 7 is alkaline. Most household cleaning agents are alkaline because the soils they target — grease, body oils, food residue, soap scum — are typically acidic, and alkalinity neutralizes and dissolves them.
