Works, but requires work….

"Tried this with a Makesy/CS FO blend and had to use a 5:1 ration which is a lot for this product. Also the product is clear, but still has a yellowish tent since the scents are in the citrus family. The cost of this product for the amount needed for it to work isn’t sustainable. Also, this product is thick so expect to have a good bit of waste since it’s like a syrup/honey consistency, which makes it hard to get all the product into your mixture. Oh and if you mix this product too fast with your FO or with base, you will get bubbles and I means bubbles like a soap. It made me question if I got the right item until I reread one of the room spray help pages. Also, takes 30-45 mins to combine Biosolv/FO mixture with base and it may look like it will turn milky initially, but good to get mixture fully combined with base before giving up."

Works Good

"This works well in my diy shower gel to stabilize the fragrances."

Great alternative to Poly20

"I wanted my room spray to be as natural as possible. I was using Poly20 before and wasn't sure if I would be able to find a decent alternative. Well...I've found it! This does great with my fragrance oils. It does cause some cloudiness in the base, however, I don't mind the appearance. I doubt my customers will mind either. I'm very satisfied."

Geogard 221

"I purchased 2 products from makesy, I really enjoyed utilizing them in my formulations . I purchased preservatives and a solubilizer, both worked great! I will be purchasing more ingredients!"

Not right for my needs

"In my hair products, in order to add enough to solubilize my high fragrance amount, it made my hair very greasy and crispy. May work better with lower fragrance loads."

Q&A

Do you have an SDS on this product?
Hi Chelsey, Yes, here you go! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NKTdhAYAHkuRYlcfJfhdma4MPPOOYetH/view
Can this be used for a body spray made with Witch Hazel, aloe gel and coconut oil? What is the usage recommendation to get the coconut oil to blend with the mixture?
Hey Corinne, Hmm this is a tricky request. I have a few suggestions but I can't guarantee this will work since you are asking to combine a vegetable oil in water without an emulsifier. I'd suggest mct oil (fractionated coconut oil) over coconut oil. MCT is more like an ester which is far more likely to solubilize. start at 0.1%-0.3% MCT oil and a 5:1 solubilizer:oil ratio (this could require up to a 10:1 potentially) If you're still having issues with blending, you should try adding either organic propanediol or biobased butylene glycol (same % as the solubilizer) to their solubilizer/oil and mix before adding to the witchhazel base.
Any way to keep the end product (room spray) from turning white when using this? Both water and witch hazel turn the product white when this is used as a solubilizer.
Hi Candice, If it's turning white that means the fragrance isn't fully solubilized! If you aren't already, I'd up your ratio to 3:1 - 5:1 (biosolv:fragrance)
How do I know how much to use for which essential oil? Does product come with instructions
Hi Kimberly! The suggested usage ratio is 1:1 to 5:1 (Solubilizer: Oil) of your formula.
Hi! Would you be so kind as to tell me what is the recommended usage rate in percentages
Hi Inga, Usage Range: 1:1 to 5:1 (Solubilizer: Oil). In percent that would be 1% to 1%, or up to 5% Solubilizer and 1% oil.
