sodium hydroxide lye flakes

$14.95

Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide, is a necessity when creating cold process soap. Lye interacts with oils and water in a process called saponification, which turns the oils into soap. We highly suggest using our sodium hydroxide lye 50/50 solution and skipping this step of having to create the solution yourself. When using lye flakes, ALWAYS pour the flakes into the liquid, and not the other way around.

Sold in 2 lb / 0.91 kg.
