What Is Candle Sweating?

by | published

Candle sweating occurs when the fragrance oil used in a candle separates from the wax, producing an oily residue. It's most common in 100% soy candles. This video will teach you all about candle sweating and how to prevent it.

There are multiple things you can do to avoid candle sweating. First, completely avoid 100% soy waxes. If you are willing to switch to a soy blend or non-soy wax, do it! They allow the wax to hold the fragrance load a lot better, avoiding sweating. You can also experiment and try to reduce your fragrance load!

Sweating is also normal and occurs when there are temperature changes, so make sure you are storing your candles in a cool environment. If you see sweating, simply use a dry paper towel and dab the oil on top of your candle.
