What Are Phthalate Free Fragrances?

by | published

Toxins! We don't mess with those. Get the scoop on understanding phthalates and learn where to buy the best quality phthalate free fragrances.

What are phthalates? They are a common ingredient in fragrance oils. They are the name of a group of chemicals that have different uses. There are different kinds of phthalates used for different purposes. Products that include them are increasingly becoming a concern due to one group having negative human health effects.

These are known as plasticizers and are used in plastic products in order to make the plastic more flexible. Luckily, these are not the kinds of phthalates that are used in fragrances. The ones used in fragrances are called DEPs. DEP is non-toxic and safe to use in skin products and candles.

However, if you can get fragrances that are created without any phthalates at all, that's even better!

All of makesy's fragrances are DEP-free! Happy making!
