Maker Spotlight: Meet El Fruto Candles

We love businesses that work towards something extremely meaningful, and El Fruto is no exception. Read on to learn more about Stephanie Ramirez, the owner & maker behind El Fruto Candles, based in Los Angeles, California.

At the end of 2020, after seeing division, pain, and fear in the world, I felt the desire to create candles that inspire, motivate and allow for characteristics of God to be manifested in our lives.

I wanted people to pause for a moment, breathe in and remember that we are designed with a purpose, designed to overflow with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control. I believe that once we blossom in each fruit, we can discover what it means to be transformed in the innermost parts of our being. 

Shortly after developing my concept, I set milestones up until completion of the project. Then I finally launched El Fruto! 

where did the name El Fruto come from?

El Fruto was inspired by the nine fruits of the Spirit. The nine fruits of the spirit are found in the Bible.

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

I had been an interior designer for 10 years and have long-admired a company called 3form. They create products made from the highest quality of materials that contribute to positive environmental and social impact and connect people back to nature. I love how they collaborate with exceptional creators all over the world to find new ways of expressing the relationship between handmade craft and natural materials with technology and innovation.

I love the beeswax coco creme, wooden wicks and fragrances.

I wanted to ensure I created a product using 100% natural materials from renewable and natural sources. I also love that the wax and fragrances are skin safe, so El Fruto’s candles can also be used as massage candles!

what’s next for el fruto?

I would love to grow El Fruto’s internet presence and get into a few storefronts!

El Fruto is proud to announce that 10% of all profits will go to ZOE International, a non-profit orginization that fights human trafficking through prevention, rescue, and restoration in the US and worldwide.
