How To Make Your Own Super Natural Soy Wax Candle
Today, Mel is here to talk all about the benefits of using our new flakey-wax! In this video, Mel will go over how to make your own candle using our super natural soy wax and all of its amazing candle-making as well environmental benefits!
First off, the super natural soy wax flakes are 100% pure natural soy that is biodegradable, vegan, and sourced here in the USA. Another amazing benefit of this wax as opposed to others is that is it completely microwavable, which makes cande-making that much easier!
Some of the other ingredients you are going to need for this candle are the iridescent cloud aura vessel, the moon flowers and vanilla clouds fragrance, some clear quartz points, zircon mini chips, and the crackling booster wick (we are going to be using the greatest thickness (0.04) and a 0.750 width).
We are going to make an 11oz candle today. Start by melting your wax flakes. If you are opting for the microwavable route, you are going to microwave the wax chips for 3 minutes in a glass or other microwavable container. Make sure you are using the right container! Otherwise, you can also use a typical double boiler or your wax melter. Next, assemble the wick inside the vessel using a wick clip and wick sticker.
Next, you are going to measure the fragrance (using a scale) and we are going to be using 10% fragrance load for this candle which equals 1.1oz of fragrance into the pitcher. Once the wax is melted, you are going to mix the fragrance with the wax for about 2 minutes. Note: the wax should be between 130-150 degrees Fahrenheit for this particular soy wax when melted. Pour the candle into the vessel, leaving space (about 0.5 inches) at the top of the vessel. Once the wax has solidifed, trim the wick and then you can decorate the candle using a heat gun.
Happy making!
