How To Choose The Best Cotton Wick For Candle Making

by | published

Learn how to select the right cotton wick for every type of candle you create! In this quick video, Charlotte, our president, walks through how to choose the best cotton wick based on your vessel size and wax type.

Our performance cotton wicks are very innovative and made from a knitted (not braided) wick. Knitted wicks provide a more advanced technology that allows better capillary flow of your fuel (aka wax and fragrance combo) up the wick and provides more consistency after trimmed at the tip of the wick.

They are USA-made and are self-trimming, so there's no carbon buildup, making your candles burn cleaner and look better after every burn!

Now, you're probably thinking, how do I get one and which one do I choose?

Visit our wick selection guide for additional help in choosing the right wick and learn more about conducting a candle burn test here.

The wick selection guide will allow you to take a short quiz asking you which wax you use, what your vessel looks like, etc. and from there, we will give you a recommendation! When it comes to cotton wicks, like wooden wicks, we use numbers to help us determine the sizes of the wicks.
