How Does A Wooden Wick Crackle?

by | published

Make the most of your wooden wick crackle! The crackle is the result of a fun scientific thing called, combustion. Not only does it make the ambiance and experience of burning a candle cozy, but it's also extremely calming.

The type of wax will change the way your wick crackles. To make the most of your wooden wick's crackle, use a wax blend that includes some food-grade paraffin or coconut wax such as our deluxe satin soy wax or coco apricot creme wax.

Stay away from 100% soy wax if you want a nice, robust crackling effect. 100% soy wax is extremely soft and oily and will dampen your crackle significantly.

If you prefer less of a crackle, use our whisper wood wicks. Lighter in color, they have 50% less crackle than our crackling wood wicks. You get the wooden wick aesthetic without as much sound.
