3 Ways To Package Soap

3 Ways To Package Soap

You’re making some really pretty, delicious-smelling soaps, now it’s time to package them so they look even prettier!

Packaging plays a huge role in the way your finished soap products stand out to customers. It’s worth putting some thought into how your finished soap bars are packaged and branded.

Different types of soap packaging serve unique purposes so choosing the type that’s right for your products is important.

Here are our top 3 ways to package your finished soap creations.

organza bags

cotton or organza bags

These are great because they are eco-friendly, super easy to use, and perfect for low-glycerin soap formulations that don’t need to be protected from sweating.

To package your soap in cotton or organza bags, simply place your soap in the bag, pull the string, and add your label. As an added bonus, cotton bags can also be hung in the shower as a soap caddy to help create some friction for a rich lather!

cardboard label wrap

If you prefer a raw apothecary style of packaging, a simple cardboard label wrap can show off your soap’s natural edges and shape. These wraps are easy to assemble and are very cost effective.

To package your soap, simply take your bag and insert your soap into the bag. You can use craft glue or a sticker to attach the back edges together, add a label, or wrap in twine for a pretty natural look.

shrink wrap

Shrink wrapping is a great way to package and prevent your soaps from sweating if you’re using high glycerin formulations. To shrink wrap, simply place your bars in the shrink wrap packaging and gently pass a heat gun over the edges until they have formed tightly around your bar.

Once they’ve cooled, you’re ready to add your labels or any other finishing touches. If you want even more protection, you can place your soaps (shrink wrapped or not) into a fitted box. This is an excellent way to package soaps for gift sets as well.

There are so many fun and creative ways to package your soap creations and we love seeing all of the innovative ways that you do!
