How To Make A Wax Melt Or Tart

by | published

Hey makers! Today on Makers Moments, Mel will show you how to make wax melts & tarts! Making wax melts and tarts are great because they can be used in wax warmers. They can be sold for customers to use in melters and warmers. They are also super easy & fun to make! They provide such a pretty aesthetic and have an amazing scent throw as well!

You are going to need wax (we are using hemp soy wax because it is easy to remove from the molds), tart mold or clamshell, fragrance of choice (we are using sweet citrus and tonka bean), digital scale, mixing spoon, pouring pitcher, and any enhancers you want to use as decorations.

First, melt your wax in your wax melter, then once the wax has reached 170-180 degrees Fahrenheit, add in your fragrance oil and stir. We are using 6oz of wax today and want a 10% fragrance load, so we are using 0.6 oz of the fragrance oil. If you want your wax melt or tart to have color/shimmer, add in your mica and dye with your fragrance in this step as well.

Once combined, pour the wax into your mold, fill completely and add in any flower petals or crystals. You want to wait at least 72 hours for the melts to fully cure before you use or sell them!

We can't wait to see how you make yours!
